Funeral services for Wilma Wilson, age 85, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at First Baptist Church in Spence Chapel with Rev. Fred Lewis and Rev. Jerry Speight officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, with Brent Wilson, Shane Wilson, Denny Wilson, Clayton McGraw, Josh Dennis, Robby Niles and Michael Ticknor serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 11, 2010 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Wilma Wilson passed away Saturday afternoon, January 9, 2010, at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. She was born in Arlington, Washington, on March 2, 1924, the daughter of William Southern and Louella (Cook) Southern. She married William LaVern "Bill" Wilson in Vancouver, Washington, on October 26, 1944. He preceded her in death in 2009. Mrs. Wilson was a retired administrative assistant from Commerce I.S.D and she was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two sons, James Robert Wilson and wife, Carolyn, of Crowley and William Lynn Wilson and wife, Virginia, of Sulphur Springs; daughter, Mary Ellen Webster and husband, David, of Mansfield; grandchildren, Tracy Lea Niles, Denise Wilson, Denny Wayne Wilson, Chris Allen Wallace, Brent Douglas Wilson, Chris Harvey and Shane Wilson and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by infant son, William L. Wilson, Jr.; sister, Jeanette and brother, Charles.
