Wesley Johnson, Jr.

A funeral service for Wesley Johnson, Jr., age 69, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 12, 2013, with Rev. Willis Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, with Mike Young, Shaka Johnson, Gary Johnson, Ivan Wright and Sammy Wright serving as pallbearers.
Wesley Johnson, Jr. passed away Monday evening, January 7, 2013 at Mesquite Specialty Hospital. He was born in Sulphur Springs on June 8, 1943, the son of Wesley Johnson, Sr. and Jessie (Chandler) Johnson. He married Edna Marie Givens in Sulphur Springs on August 22, 1965; she survives. He was retired from Wingo Feed Mill and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Other survivors include: two sons, Phillip Keith Johnson of Sulphur Springs, Vernon Keith Johnson of Lancaster; brother Cleotis Johnson of Sulphur Springs; two sisters, Essie Lee Pryor of Sulphur Springs, Lizzie Mae Stevenson of Linden; grandchildren, Ashley Johnson, LaKeitha Johnson, Jordan Johnson, Tornard Johnson, Monica Johnson and Veronica Johnson; great-grandchildren, Quinterius Johnson, Lilly Rose Waver and Arieon Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Rhonda Cheatum; son, Victor Johnson; four brothers, Calvin, Lonnie, Buford and Charles Johnson and three sisters, Lucille Landers, Elnora Cotton and Claudie Ruth Anderson.
