Funeral services for W.D. “Skeeter” Scott, age 76, of Pickton, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel with Rev. Johnny Wheat officiating and Garry Allen assisting. Interment will follow at Mahoney Cemetery with Mike Boyd, Guy Hatch, T.N. Gregory, Tom Reynolds, David Wayne Jones and Fred McCauley serving as pallbearers and Frank Caldwell, Frank Penny, Ed Pingle, Mark Phillips and Billy O’Brien serving as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be held at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Saturday, April 29, 2017. Mr Scott passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at U.T. Southwestern- Dallas.

W.D. “Skeeter” Scott was born on May 5, 1940 in Mahoney, TX, the son of Lawton Maurice Scott and Pauline (Tolleson) Scott. He married Judy McIntire in Hugo, OK on January 2, 1959 and she preceded him in death in 2011. He then married Loretta Hooks Cox in Pickton, TX on February 8, 2013. “Skeeter” served in the Army, retired from Texas Utilities and was a member of Lake Highlands Baptist Church.

“Skeeter” is survived by his wife, Loretta Hooks Cox Scott; sons, David Scott (Kayla), Danny Scott (Gary Chitwood), Jim Scott (Tina), Tim Scott; bonus children, Christi Cox (Chandra Boswell), Shannon Cox Fuller (Donny), Allen Cox (Melanie); grandchildren, Jessica Scott Barnhart (Michael), William David Scott II, Benjamin Scott, Phillip Cox, Luke Cox (Kayla Burns), Brittany Cox, Lillie Denise Cox; great grandchildren, Kenzler Cox; sister, Rose Scott Jobe.

Preceding him in death are his parents; late wife, Judy McIntire Scott and son Donny Alvin Scott; sister, Jeanette Scott Hatch Payne; brothers, Joe Glenn Scott, Kenneth Earl Scott and Jackie Don Scott.
