Wayford Clyde “Butch” McIllwain
December 31, 1941 to November 21, 2020
Last Saturday, Butch McIllwain, took his last earthly breath and woke in the presence of his Lord, surrounded by all his beloved family and friends in heaven.
You see, wherever Butch was, that was where the party was. God gave him a wit and a love for people. If you were having a get together, it didn’t start until Butch arrived.
He used his personality, wit, creativity and charm to advance his custom wallpaper business into the success it was, creating lavish designs for many stars , including Oprah Winfrey. His love of the beach, started at this point when Bolivar Designs located to the Galveston area.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents, Wayford Maurice “Pete” McIllwain and Alma Imogene Moore McIllwain, brother, Terry McIllwain, sister and her husband, Juanita and Jim Hargis, brother-in-law, Ray Miller and friend, Russ Richards.
Butch is survived by Norma McIllwain, sister, Wilma Sue Milligan and husband RB Milligan Jr, brother Eugene McIllwain, and Dusty and wife Nancy McIllwain. He is survived by many adoring nieces and nephews. He was lucky enough to get spend his last week on earth at the beach he loved.
The family wishes to thank Choice Home Hospice for their wonderful care over the past few weeks. He loved you all, but we especially want to thank Lori and Linda.
