Wanda Singleton

Funeral services for Wanda Singleton, age 89, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at Sulphur Bluff Methodist Church, at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2008. Interment will follow at Sulphur Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 15, 2008, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Wanda Singleton passed away at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital, Thursday evening, September 11, 2008. She was born in Sulphur Bluff, on March 20, 1919, the daughter of Oliver Madison and Flonnie Ann Emerson Bassham. She married Oren Wilson Singleton in Sulphur Bluff, on January 1, 1935. He preceded her in death in 2002. Mrs. Singleton was a homemaker. She was a member of the Sulphur Bluff Methodist Church and Eastern Star.
Survivors include: daughter, Shirley Henry of Dallas; two sisters, Myrtis Prather of Natchez, Mississippi and Ollie Bell Holley of Tyler; brother, George Allison Bassham of Sulphur Bluff; grandchildren, Sanford Lance McCaskey and Russell Bryant McCaskey and great-grandchildren, Meghan McCaskey, Lance McCaskey, Morgan McCaskey and Connor McCaskey. Memorials may be made to the Sulphur Bluff Cemetery Association.
