A memorial service for Walter W. Pace, age 70, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 16, 2012, with Tony McCoy and David Julian officiating. Inurnment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, with Dalton Morehead, Charles Ray Potts, Larry Price, Harold Mays and Jim Gaylor serving as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, April 15, 2012, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Walter W. Pace passed away Wednesday morning, April 11, 2012 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Sulphur Springs, May 22, 1941, the son of Walter E. Pace and Ruth Evelyn (Hook) Pace. He married Nelda Julian in Maple Springs on March 1, 1962; she survives. He was a musical instrument repairman and owned Pace Music Company, associated with McKay Music Company. He held an honorary doctorate degree for band instrument repair from East Texas State University.
Other survivors include: daughter, Evelyn Kaler and husband, Dr. Lawrence Kaler of San Angelo; two sons, Taylor Pace and wife, Paula, and Dale Pace, both of Sulphur Springs; sister, Jo Ruth Mays of Pickton and grandchildren, Kyle Lee, Layton Pace, Kaden Pace, Delane Pace, Patrick Pace, Gena Pace and Acacia Pace and great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Sulphur Springs High School Band Boosters.
