Graveside service for Walter Nowell, age 65, of Greenville will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Emblem Cemetery with Rance Moore officiating and Ed Bird, William Bird, Eastin Bird, Randy Miller, David Salter and Louis Vann serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM on Friday, October 9, 2020 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Walter was born on May 13, 1955 in Dallas County to Hiram Walter Nowell and Leah Ozema Cunningham Nowell. He married Teresa Nowell on September 1, 2006 in Sulphur Springs. She preceded him in death in November of 2018. Walter was a longtime employee at Bell Helicopter. Walter was a very caring and generous person. He cared for and loved his wife before her passing and placed the inscription on her headstone “Love is neither measured by time nor distance”. Walter loved to ride his motorcycle and spend time with his family and friends. He made friends with all those that crossed his path and made some great memories in life.
He is survived by his stepsons of whom he considered his own, William Bird, Darrell Wallace and James Tony Crider; grandson, Eastin Bird; granddaughter, Bailea Bird; sister, Ireanna Hohmann and husband, Darrell; numerous nieces and nephews.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Teresa; brother Michael Nowell.
