Verna Barnett

Funeral services for Verna Barnett, age 99, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 4, 2012, with David Asbil and Wayne Wolfe officiating. Interment will follow at Greenview Cemetery, with Eric Barnett Greg Barnett, Justin Frost, Kenny Frost, Jimmy Daugherty and Bobby Jennings serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour before the service (1:00 p.m.) at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Verna Barnett passed away Monday afternoon, April 2, 2012 at Sulphur Springs Health & Rehab. She was born in Rains County on April 25, 1912, the daughter of Cecil McLeroy and Mattie (Freeman) McLeroy. She married Willie Barnett in Rains County on October 8, 1932. He preceded her in death in 1983. She was a homemaker and a member of Daugherty Baptist Church.
Survivors include: sons; Windle Wayne Barnett and wife, Glenda "Sissie" of Sulphur Springs, Alvis Ray Barnett and wife, Deloris, of Nocona; sister, Ludene Johnson of Mabank; brother, Weaver B. McLeroy of Mansfield; grandchildren, Eric Barnett, Greg Barnett, Cindy Frost and Dawn Latour and ten great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers.
