A funeral service for Troyce C. Lewis, age 90, of Weaver will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 10, 2013, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Friday officiating. A military graveside service under the direction of the Hopkins County Military Coalition will follow at the Weaver Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Earnie Copeland, Asa Joslin, Brian Adams, Blake Adams, Mark Wallace and Larry Crowson. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Friday, Billy Gene Davison, James Edwards, Calvin White, Ronnie Charles, Jim Bishop and Slick Lloyd. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2013 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Troyce C. Lewis passed away Thursday evening, June 6, 2013 at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. He was born in Weaver, the son of Homer and Carrie McCord Lewis. He married Bobbie Dean Allen in the Brinker Community on May 11, 1946. She preceded him in death in 2007. He was a carpenter/farmer and he was a member of Weaver Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He also served for over 17 on the Saltillo ISD School Board.
Survivors include: son, Jimmy Lewis and wife Janie of Tira; daughter, Cathy Wallace and husband Larry of Weaver; brother, Horace Ray Lewis and wife Thelma of Weaver; grandchildren, Alicia Joslin of Sulphur Springs and Brandon Massey and wife Jessica of Arlington; great-grandchildren, Hayden Joslin, Quinton Joslin, Ava Massey and Isabella Massey; step-grandchildren, Brian and Radona Adams, Randall Wright, Jeremy Wright, Mark Wallace and wife Michelle, Carrie Crowson and husband Larry; step-great-grandchildren, Blake Adams, Cooper Adams, Kaci Crowson, Kade Crowson, Kirstie Wallace and Kendall Wallace and special friend, Grace Horton. Memorials may be made to the Weaver Cemetery Association.
