Troy Townsend

Funeral Services for Troy J. Townsend, age 88 of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Allen Bunch officiating. Interment will follow in the Stouts Creek Cemetery with Derek Dickeson, David Swanson , Mason Kirby, Lonnie Bunch, Roy Rodriguiz, Rusty Woodson, and Kenneth Leisey serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Bunch and Sammy Bunch. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Mr. Townsend died on Monday, December 15, 2014 at Senior Suite and Care Center in Emory. He was a retired machinist and a member of the Baptist faith.
He was born on November 30, 1926, the son of George James Townsend and Mattie Alvertie Johnson in Josephine, TX. He married Margaret Bennett on March 31, 1948 in Sulphur Springs. She proceeded him in death in 1987.
Other survivors include: daughters; Lana Pruitt, and Terri Hunter both of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Audrey Toliver, Daimen Hunter, and Julie Woodson. Numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, one sister, one grandchild, Kara Dunivan and one great great-child, David Crowder.
