Funeral services for Tommy Howard, age 54, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at New Beginnings Fellowship Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 21, 2012, with Rev. Larry Jordan and Rev. Jeremy Pruitt officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, with Sheriff Butch Adams, Kenny Farrow, Wilton McMorris, Clint Buckley, Robert Hinton, Tony Giles and David Penny serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Judge Robert Newsome, Glen Wiedenbeck, Gary Nixon and Steve Calavan.. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 20, 2012 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Tommy Howard passed away Monday morning, April 16, 2012 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Sulphur Springs on May 31, 1957, the son of Thomas William Howard, Sr. and Tressie Mae (Williams) Howard. He married April Denise Seymore in Sulphur Springs on April 7, 1989; she survives. He was owner of Aces Truck and Trailer Repair and a member of New Beginnings Fellowship Baptist Church and a minister for Fruitful Harvest Jail and prison ministry. He served in the United States Army.
Other survivors include: four daughters, Drucilla McGary and husband, Jacob, Destiny Weaver and husband, William; Christina Chambliss, all of Sulphur Springs and Mandy Arnold and husband, Niels of Wylie; son, Thomas William Howard, III; father, L. D. Baker; three brothers, Carl Wayne Smith and wife, Sonya, Russell Dean Smith, all of Sulphur Springs, and James Henry Howard, Sr. and wife, Karen of Celeste; sister, Rose Mary Kamalsky of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Devyn, Emma, Connie, Leanore, Jacob, Jonnathon, Jared and Ciara and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Tressie Mae Baker , his father, two sisters, Susie Goldsmith and Nora Hogue and brother, Robert Howard.
Memorials may be made to New Beginnings Fellowship Church for funeral expenses.
