Funeral services for Tommie H. Lenox, age 81, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 1, 2009, with Brother Tim Potts officiating. A military graveside service, under the direction of the Hopkins County Military Coalition, will follow at South Liberty Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be J. W. Ragan, Cecil McCoy, Bo Brumble, Casey Johnson, Howard Birchfield and Donald Birchfield. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Tommie H. Lenox passed away Monday morning, March 30, 2009, at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Cooksville, on February 26, 1928. Mr. Lenox was a welder for U. S. Steel and a member of South Liberty Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army.
Survivors include: four daughters, Patti McDonell of Combine, Barbara Lawrence of Sulphur Springs, Glenda Hinson of White Oak and Susie; beloved friend, Maggie Jefferies; two brothers, Travis Lenox of Garland and J. R. Lennox of Ft. Worth; sister, Lilla Mae Denny of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Gary Walker, Brenda Lawrence, Christi Brumble, Bo Brumble and Emily Johnson; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son, Tommy Lenox and two brothers, Harold Lenox and Richard Lenox.
