Funeral services for Thelma Spigner Soders, age 76, of Ft. Worth, formerly of Hopkins County, will be held at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 16, 2010. Interment will follow at Caney Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service (10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.)
Thelma Spigner Soders passed away Saturday morning, February 13, 2010 at Ft. Worth Methodist Hospital. She was born in Hopkins County on July 16, 1934, the daughter of Genoa Spigner and Elvira (Williams) Spigner. Mrs. Soders was a homemaker and a member of St. Mark Baptist Church.
Survivors include: son, Raymond Petty and Learnette of Pickton; two brothers, Genoa Spigner, Jr. and Joyce of Houston and Roy Spigner and Roseanne of Sulphur Springs; sister, Pricilla Johnson of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Nichole and Anthony Cooks, Saundra and Hersean Lewis, Victoria and Alphonse Marshall, Tiffany and Hugo Diaz and Raymond C. Petty, II; great grandchildren, Lauren, Samaria, Rayla, Cameron, Mya, Nia, Malaiah, Marin, Sayna and Nicholas. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Geneva Hall and one granddaughter.
