A Celebration of Life for Tammy (Hooten) Shelton, age 57, of Sulphur Springs, Texas will be held from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Shooks Chapel Church in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Ms. Shelton passed away at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Sulphur Springs on Saturday, December 21, 2024.

Tammy Kay Shelton was born on July 21, 1967 in Sulphur Springs, Texas to William Don and Donna June (Hatley) Hooten. Tammy worked for many years in the Packaging and Processing Department at Pilgrim's Pride Corporation. Once Tammy met you, she considered you “her” family. All of her relationships instantly grew into very close and meaningful bonds. Tammy was involved in the Soul Ministry in Dallas where she enjoyed helping take care of the homeless. The ministry was very rewarding to Tammy.

Tammy is survived by her mother, Donna Hooten; daughter, Dana Shelton and husband Jeremy; grandchildren, Zackary Shelton and wife Jolie, Alexis Shelton and husband Erebus, Kara Shelton, and Jarrod Shelton; great-grandchild, Anson Shelton; brother, Cleveland Hooten and wife Missy; sisters, Stephanie Hooten and Mary Galindo and husband Rick; and many other adopted children and family.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Don Hooten; sister, Karen Hooten; and brother, Eddie Hooten.
