Sue Swinford

A graveside service for Sue Swinford, age 81, of Dallas, formerly of Hopkins County, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 17, 2009, at Old Saltillo Cemetery, with Kevin Smith officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
Sue Swinford passed away Tuesday morning, July 14, 2009, at Doctor's Hospital in Dallas. She was born in Saltillo, on January 18, 1928, the daughter of Homer H. Osteen and Vennie (Ratliff) Osteen. She married Charles Edward Swinford at Rockwall County, on November 2, 1945. He preceded her in death in 1995. Mrs. Swinford was an electronic engineer, retired from Texas Instruments and U. T. L. Corporation. She was a member of Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church in Dallas.
Survivors include: two daughters, Deborah Sue Swinford and Lisa Michelle Smith, both of Dallas; two sons, Jerry Keith Swinford of Dallas and Charles Michael Swinford of Hot Springs; brother, Howard Osteen of Garland; two granddaughters, Shannon DeLay and Charlie Erin Swinford and four grandsons, Charles Chase Swinford, Justin Swinford, Jason Lee DeLay, Dallas DeLay and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and four brothers.
