A graveside service for Sue Byrd, age 90, of Whitehouse, formerly of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at Restlawn Memorial Park at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 22, 2013 with Rev. Ron Byrd, Rev. Jordan Byrd and Rev. Charles Moore officiating. No formal visitation is scheduled.
Sue Byrd passed away Thursday morning, July 18, 2013 at her residence. She was born in Palestine September 14, 1922, the daughter of Harvey Cockerham and Theopa (Whitley) Cockerham. She married R. L. Byrd in Jacksonville on March 8, 1940. He preceded her in death in 1979. She was a librarian and a homemaker. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and she was a former worthy matron of Eastern Star.
Survivors include: son, Ron Byrd and wife Tanye of Whitehouse; grandchildren, Katie Byrd Gibson, Blair Byrd Streit, David Byrd Streit, Jordan Byrd and Joshua Byrd and seven great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Richard Byrd and Randy Byrd and sister, Robbie Colleen Brooks.
Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church in Sulphur Springs.
