Funeral services for Sam P. Jones, age 83 of Sulphur Springs will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Murray- Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tommy Hall officiating. Masonic Graveside will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Restland Cemetery in Dallas with Matt Carson, Todd Johnson, Larry Johnson, Joe Cobler, Mike Jones, and Kris Jones serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be 6 till 8 pm, Monday, January 7, 2013 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Sam P. Jones passed away Friday, January 4, 2013 at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. He was born in Borger, TX on September 1, 1929 the son of William Jesse and Dora Turner Jones. He married Frances Claudine Seaton in Clovis, NM on April 28, 1954. He was a Master Mason and a member of the Gus Garrison Lodge #1273 of Winnsboro. Mr Jones was also an active member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. He served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the Davis Street Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs.

Survivors include: three daughters, Charlotte Johnson and husband, Larry of Royce City, Brenda Carson and husband, Joe Cobler of Richardson ; Debra Jones of Plano, Tx ,a sister Dr. Bettie Rose Horne and husband, Finis of Greenwood, SC; a brother, James Jones and wife, Pat of Granbury; 2 grandson's , Matthew Scott Carson, Larry Todd Johnson; 3 great-grandchildren, Caroline Carson, Cayden Johnson, and Taylor Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill & Dora Jones wife, Frances Claudine Jones, and wife, Martha Inez Jones, and two brothers, Earl Thomas Jones and William ( Pete) Jones
