A funeral service for Rosetta Lucas, age 93, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at South Liberty Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 12, 2014 with Rev. Robert Burns officiating. Interment will follow at South Liberty Cemetery with Chad Suttle, Brian Ridling , Johnathon Gammill, J. W. Ragan, Wayne Allison and Marron Allison serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be James Birchfield, Howard Birchfield, Tim Potts, Milton Ragan, Colton Burns and Collyn Burns. Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm (one hour before the service).
Rosetta Lucas passed away on Monday evening, January 6, 2014 at Carriage House Manor . She was born in Fairfield, Texas on June 19, 1920, the daughter of John L. Wilson and Mary Smith Wilson.
She married Cecil Suttle and they had 2 sons, Wiley R. Suttle, Sr. and Cecil Don Suttle. She later married Curtis Lucas in Corsicana, Texas on December 22, 1969. He preceded her in death. She was a retired nurse and a member of South Liberty Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Cecil Don Suttle and wife, Charlene of Ft. Worth, step-daughter, Imogene Becker of Mart and daughter -in-law, Billie Joyce Suttle of Sulphur Springs .Grandchildren are Ronnie Suttle, Quinton Suttle and wife Debbie, Keith Suttle and Dina Sprinkles and husband Bob. Great-Grandchildren are Amy Ridling and husband Brian, Chad Suttle and wife Brooke, Chelsea Suttle and Shelby Gammill and husband Johnathon. Great -Great - Grandchildren are Bryce Ridling and Chance Ridling, Harper Marie Suttle, Jackson Lundell and Jenner Gammill, Sofia Sprinkles, Hank Sprinkles, Willow Sprinkles and Lily Sprinkles.
She was preceded in death by her husband Curtis Lucas, one son, Wiley R. Suttle, Sr. and four sisters, Daisy Smart, Rae Key, Vader Rushin and Evelyn Cockerell.
She is also survived by her Caregivers and Nurses at Carriage House Manor whom she affectionately called her "Baby Girls".
Memorials may be made to South Liberty Baptist Church and/or the charity of choice.
