Ronnie was born on August 28, 1946 in Sulphur Springs to Nedra and Harlan Irvin.  He graduated from Sulphur Springs High School in 1964.  Throughout his life, Ronnie was known for his independent spirit and tremendous work ethic. He instilled in his family the belief that anything worth doing was worth doing right. He dearly loved his wife of 51 years, Sandra Young. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He valued education and together with Sandra, ensured their daughters had college educations. Ronnie was a cowboy in every sense of the word, making his life’s work raising cattle and horses and farming his land, rodeoing and, when his back finally gave out, watching rodeo on television. He had a strong faith in Jesus Christ and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Sulphur Springs. He maintained a relationship with Dr. Richard Jackson, former pastor of SSFBC, who married he and Sandra. Ronnie was an amazing athlete in his time and loved to read, especially Elmer Kelton.

He is survived by his daughters, Kristin Monk and husband, Kevin of Sulphur Springs, Jennifer Graham and husband, Silas of Dallas, Ashley Weaver and husband, Rad of San Antonio; grandchildren, Carter, Kathryn and Claire Monk, Harlan and Silas Graham and Cecelia and Collins Weaver; and sister, Nan Cannon and husband, Rip of Carrollton, TX; brother, Glenn Irvin and wife, Margaret of Sulphur Springs, TX.

The family would like to recognize Senzeni Achodo for her faithful caring service for the past two years, in addition to Danny Waldron, Tiffani Nelms, Corrice Dial, and Dr. Maureen Gutierrez.
