A funeral service for Robert Veldon "R.V." Price, age 90 of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Steve Calavan and Rev. Kyle Rayofficiating. A military graveside service under the direction of the Hopkins County Military Coalition will follow at Gafford Chapel Cemetery. Todd Williams, Jr., Taylor Cross, Kyle Nichols, Antwone Young, Lonny Taylor and James Head will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Buzzy Ivey and Louis Lufkin. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Robert Veldon "R.V." Price passed away Monday morning, December 2, 2013 at his residence. He was born in the Bonanza Community April 12, 1923, the son of Robert Price and Frankie (Mabe) Price. He married Margie Collins. She preceded him in death in 2001. He was a retired A.M.P.I. truck driver and he was of the Methodist faith. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He fought in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He was awarded several battle stars. He also was stationed in Iceland, Scotland and Ireland.
Survivors include: two daughters, Mary Robinson and Opal Price; two sisters, Etta Mae Willey and Virginia Neal, all of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Mark Robinson and Jennie, Jarrod Friddle and Carrie and Joel Friddle and Karmon; great-grandchildren, Mason and Jackson Friddle, Braden and Allison Katchinska, Blake and Tiffany Robinson and Shea Robinson. He was preceded in death by sister, Opal Lynch and Betty Price.
