Robert Preston

Funeral services for Robert C. Preston, age 91, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 17, 2009, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, with Benny Dickson officiating. Interment will follow at Miller Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 16, 2009, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Robert C. Preston passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 14, 2009 at Carriage House Manor Nursing Home. He was born in Miller Grove, on July 1, 1917, the son of Robert Q. and Jennie Jones Preston. He married Shirley H. McGowan in Miller Grove, in November of 1939. She preceded him in death in 2000. Mr. Preston was a mechanic for Dallas Transit and a member of the Presbyterian faith. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
Survivors include: son, Alton Neil Preston of Rochester Hill, Michigan; two sisters, Martha Collins of Sulphur Springs and Juanita Griffin of Arlington; three grandchildren, Gregory Preston, Jeffrey Preston and Jennie Preston and three great-grandchildren, Brianna Preston, Robert Preston and Madison Preston. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Johnnie and Ray Preston and two sisters, Merriel Renshaw and Ginny Bishop.
