A military graveside service, under the direction of the Hopkins County Military Coalition, for Robert D. Gentry, age 85, of Como, will be conducted at City Cemetery, at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 26, 2011. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the sheriff's posse. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Robert D. Gentry passed away at Mother Frances Hospital in Winnsboro, Sunday , January 23, 2011. He was born in Roxton, September 4, 1925, the son of Albert Richardson Gentry and Fairlena (White) Gentry. Mr. Gentry was a Hopkins County deputy sheriff and he was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of the sheriff's posse. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Survivors include: sister, Eloise Wray of Azle; nieces and nephews and special friend, Charlene Glenn of Sulphur Springs. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Alfred A. Watson Sr..
