Funeral services for Raymond Pottorf, 70 of Sulphur Bluff will be 4:00 pm, Sunday, October 12, 2008 at Wesley Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Jones and Rev. Wally Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Conner Cemetery with John Henry, Danny Beard, Nichole Beard, Scott Pottorf, Randy Pottorf and Justin Pottorf serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers AT&T Outside Plant Employees. Visitation will be 6:00 till 8:00 pm, Saturday, October 11, 2008 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Raymond Leroy Pottorf passed away at his residence on Thursday, October 9, 2008. He was born on February 21, 1938 in Pittsburg, KS the son of Floyd Raymond and Clara Reese Pottorf. Raymond married Betty Whitley in Joplin, MO on July 4, 1959. She survives. He retired from AT & T, as a long line supervisor. He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church.
Survivors included; wife; Betty Pottorf of Sulphur Bluff, one son; David Raymond Pottorf of Sulphur Bluff, three daughters; Barbra Gavin of Greenville, Deborah Caffey of Sulphur Springs, and JoAnna Mitcham of Campbell, six grandchildren; Nichole Beard, John Henry, Danny Beard, Jessica Henry, Stormy Pottorf and Jacob Mitcham.
He was preceded in death by; his parents, and two brothers; Harold and Bobby Pottorf.
