A funeral service for R. C. Pollan, 91, of Mt. Vernon, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Mt. Vernon Church of Christ with Richard Rutledge and Chris McElyea officiating. Interment will follow at Old Saltillo Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, April 14, 2014 at Mt. Vernon Church of Christ.
He passed away at his residence Saturday, April 12, 2014. He was born in Floydada, Texas September 4, 1922, the son of Edgar Pollan and Oma (Warren) Pollan. He married Ethleen Bishop April 10, 1942 in Floydada, Texas; she survives. He was a retired road foreman for the City of Richardson and a member of Mt. Vernon Church of Christ. He served in the United States Army/Air Force during World War II.
Other survivors include: daughter, Velda Williams and husband, Richmond, of Wylie; sister, Helen Stewart of Dangerfield; grandchildren, Christine Lee, Carla Adamson and husband, Kelley, Caron Cumbie and Clint Williams; great-grandchildren, Garrett Ashmore, Colton Lee, Kelsey Lee, Adrienne Adamson, Brynne Adamson, Kindra Cumbie, Raven Williams, Dakota Williams and Hunter Williams and great-great-grandchildren Haylea Ashmore and Scarlett Ashmore.
He was preceded in death by brother, Edwin Pollan.
