A funeral service for Patty A. Morgan, age 79, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at Spence Chapel, First Baptist Church, at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 19, 2013, with Rev. Mark Bryant, Rev. Tommy Johnston and Rev. Howard Strickland officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, with Red Cross, Vic Ponder, James Moore, Tony Hughes, Rodney Miller, Lee Teetes, Don Deaton, Clayton McGraw, Ben Dickerson, and Don Sapaugh. Honorary pallbearers will be First Baptist Church Radio/Television Bible Class, members of Monday Night Bowling League, City National Bank employees, staff of Rock Creek Health and Rehabilitation, Jim Bagwell and Tommy White. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Patty A. Morgan passed away Monday evening, July 15, 2013 at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. She was born in Boston, Kentucky on December 4, 1933, the daughter of Sanford Sidebottom and Mary Lee (Hutchison) Sidebottom. She married James P. "Turk" Morgan in Sulphur Springs on April 12, 1958; he survives. She was the retired owner of Dairy Queen. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Mothers' Culture Club, Hall of Fame at Classic Lanes. She was also an election judge for local elections, secretary of her bowling league and bowling association and she was recognized for attending national bowling tournaments.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Tommie Ann Walker and Debra Sue Morgan, both of Sulphur Springs; two brothers, Bill Sidebottom of Sulphur Springs and Kenny Sidebottom of Kentucky; granddaughter, Amber Underwood and great-grandchildren, Dylan Reed and Ashlyn Collins. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Donnie Sidebottom and Shorty Sidebottom and two sisters, Jane Miller and Linda Richey.
