Funeral services for Jeanie Bourland, age 85, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 26, 2010, with Dr. Cecil McCleod and Rev. Micheal Moore officiating. Interment will be held at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. Robby Hampton will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, July 25, 2010 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Jeanie Bourland passed away at Carriage House Manor, Friday evening, July 23, 2010. She was born in Palestine on February 5, 1925, the daughter of Earl and Vera Smith Johnson. She married William Loyd Bourland in Nelta Community on November 2, 1942. He preceded her in death in 1998. She retired from Hopkins County Memorial Hospital after twenty seven years as a Ward Clerk and was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include: daughter, Barbara Dorner, and husband, Bert, of Sulphur Bluff; sons, Johnny Bourland, and wife, Teresa, of Whiteville, TN and Jimmy Bourland, and wife, Alice, of Winnsboro; sister, Carrie "Chubbie" Martin, of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Jeff Dorner, and wife, Kim, Joey Dorner, and wife, Melanie, Johnny Glynn Bourland, and wife, Melissa, Jimmy Earl Bourland, and wife, Shelia, Gina Goldsmith, and husband, Terry, Michelle Russell, and husband, Tim, Pamela Bourland, Teri Bourland, and Tammy Davis; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Buddy Johnson and one sister, Billie Williamson.
