Funeral services for Nella Cook Christian, age 76, of Wylie, formerly of Hopkins County, will be held at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 11, 2010, with Rev. Florencio Lara officiating. No formal visitation is scheduled.
Nella Cook Christian passed away Wednesday evening, April 7, 2010, at Baylor Medical Center in Garland. She was born in Greenville, on September 9, 1933, the daughter of Austin Browning, Sr. and Vera (Freeman) Browning. She married James Cook. He preceded her in death. She married Donald Christian. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Christian was a homemaker and she was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include: two sons, Rickie Cook of Dallas, Randy Cook of Wylie; three sisters, Edna Johnson of Garland, Ann Jordan of Dekalb, Ellen Howard of Marshall; grandchildren, Biondi Spencer, Breona Bevill, Matthew Cook and Shea Bellamy and great-grandchildren, Kamri and Kylie Spencer, Brennon Smith, Reese Ashworth and Adley Mannon. She was preceded in death by brother, Austin Browning, Jr. and sister, Odessa Blanton.
