Myrtie Shipley

A funeral service for Myrtie Shipley, age 87, of Mesquite, formerly of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at Davis Street Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 14, 2013, with Rev. Tommy Hall and Rev. Andy Comer officiating. Interment will follow at Greenview Cemetery, with Todd Taylor, Travis Taylor, Jerry Lamb, Mack Newsome, Jack Brooks and Monty Tipps serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Colson Troy Taylor. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Myrtie Shipley passed away Thursday evening, January 10, 2013 at Texas Regional Medical Center in Sunnyvale. She was born in Dennison on April 28, 1925, the daughter of Bee Gafford and Lela Newsome. She married Billy Coppedge who preceded her in death. She married Troy Shipley who preceded her in death. She was retired from various retail stores and a member of Davis Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include: daughter, Suzanne Taylor and husband, Kerry, of Mesquite; sister, Mildred Weaver of Dallas; grandchildren, Todd Taylor and wife, Kobi, and Travis Taylor and great-grandchildren, Laynie Taylor and Colson Taylor. She was also preceded in death by brother, T. D. Gafford
