Funeral services for Minnie Flowers Fails, age 100 of Red Oak, formerly of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 15, 2009, with Rev. Lee Huff and Sidney "Shorty" Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at Rockdale Cemetery, with Alan Fails, Chuck Fails, Cody Fails, Don Groom, Grady Oldfield and Dick Kaschmitter serving as pallbearers.
Minnie Flowers Fails, age 100, was born in the Whitton Community on March 23, 1909 and was welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 12, 2009. She was a 50 year resident of Sulphur Springs and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. One of her great joys in life was serving the Lord and she taught Sunday School for approximately 50 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey Marshall Flowers and Lila (Crabtree) Flowers; brothers, Harvey "Pop" and Earl Flowers; sister, Lucille Flowers Oldfield; her husband of 60 years, Amon Doyle (A.D.) Fails and her son, Billy Amon Fails. She loved her family with all her heart and her grandchildren were especially precious to her. She is survived by son, Travis D. Fails and wife, Peggy, of Rowlett; daughter, Marie Webb of Lancaster; grandsons, Billy D. Fails and Charles (Chuck) Fails, both of Sulphur Springs and Alan D. Fails and wife, Kim, of Irving; granddaughter, Angla Fails of Houston; great-grandchildren, Cody and wife, Rhandi Fails, of Yantis and Fallon and Francesca Fails of Irving and great-great-grandson, Case Fails of Yantis; plus many nieces, nephews and friends. Memorials may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church, 130 Lee Street, Sulphur Springs, Texas 75482.
