Minnie Daniel

March 9, 1925 — January 22, 2017

Funeral service for Minnie Faye "Ma D" Daniel, age 91, Southlake Texas, will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday January 27, 2017 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel with Rev. Justin Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Cumby Cemetery, Cumby Texas with Chase Daniel, Josh Skoch, Everett Smith, Mike Burch, Steve Anderson and Vaughn Crowe serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 7:30PM on Thursday, January 26, 2017.

Mrs. Daniel passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017 in Grapevine, TX of natural causes. She was one of eleven children born to John and Minnie (Denton) Smith on March 9, 1925 in Cumby, Texas. Minnie attended Cumby High School and graduated in 1942. She was active in all sports but excelled in the sport of basketball. She married William Wiley Daniel on January 16, 1946, in Dallas, Texas and celebrated 51 years of wonderful marriage until his death at the age of 76 on March 21, 1997.

Minnie is survived by her son Bill Daniel and his wife Vickie; 2 grandchildren and their spouses, Lynsey and Josh Skoch and Chase and Hillary Daniel. Her sole remaining sibling, Jerry Evans, lives with her daughter Pat Fausnight and family in Trinidad, Texas.

Ma D had a deep love for her family and enjoyed spending quality time with them especially at the annual Smith Reunion and all holiday functions.
