Mildred Lawson

Graveside funeral services for Mildred Lawson, age 88 of Sulphur Springs will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Rockdale Cemetery with Rev. B.G. Polk officiating the service. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., before the service at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.

Mildred passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Hope, AR on January 4, 1927 to her father, Charlie Owens, and mother, Janie "Dot" Norton. She married Bobby Clark Lawson on September 11, 1944 in Hopkins County, whom preceded her in death in 2012 after 67 years of marriage. She was a homemaker and a member of the Davis St. Baptist Church for over 30 years.

Survivors include: sister, Ruby Bain, and sisters-in-law, Luvina Owens and Betty Lawson; granddaughter and husband, Karen and Kilan Polk of Sulphur Springs; grandson and wife, David and Angie Lawson of Sulphur Springs; great-grandchildren, Kyle Polk, Kody Polk, Faustin Lawson, Hayley Lawson, Dustin Lawson, Denton Lawson, Tristyn Rutledge and Brent Rutledge.

Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, David Clark Lawson; one brother, David Owens, two sisters, Faye Bills and Marie Chamness, two brothers-in-law, Willam Chamness and Jack Bain, along with numerous other friends and family members that will greet her in heaven.
