Funeral services for Mildred King, age 78, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 3, 2009, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Sandy Vaculik and Rev. B. J. Teer officiating. Interment will follow at Brashear Cemetery, with Ronnie Skaggs, Wayne Skaggs, Justin Adair, Lynn Williams, Michael Vititow and Josh Veracruz serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Fairchild, Micah Johnson and Jason Peedger. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 2, 2009 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Mildred King passed away Wednesday morning, December 31, 2008, at Sunny Springs Nursing Home. She was born in Sulphur Springs, on November 12, 1930, the daughter of John Ebra and Jeannie Elizabeth Bunch King. She married John Herosy in Dallas. He preceded her in death in 1968. Mrs. King was a homemaker and a member of Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include: son, David Pledger and wife, Brenda, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; daughter, Carol Potts and husband, Steve, of Sulphur Springs; two sisters, Marie Skaggs of Gainesville and Judy Baldwin of Grand Prairie; grandchildren, Amy Blevins, Jason Pledger, Brian Fairchild, Micah Johnson, Kimbery Vititow and Leah McCarthy; great-grandchildren, Shelby and Cooper Blevins, Tristan and Levi Fairchild, Shane Johnson, II and Marshall Johnson, Jaden Vititow and Caleb McCarthy. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Lester, James, William and Clarence King; five sisters, Wilma King, Alma Archer, Dorothy Wesson, Christine Flanagan and Mary Louise Cannon. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of choice.
