Mildred Howk

Graveside Services for Mildred Howk, age 89, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Pleasant Grove North Cemetery with Adam Mayfield officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Mrs. Howk died on Monday, July 21, 2014, at Carriage House Manor in Sulphur Springs, TX. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the League Street Church of Christ.
She was born on November 16, 1924, the daughter of Cyrus and Frances McCall Brown. She married Carvil Howk on November 28, 1943 in Searcy, AR. He preceded her in death in 1996.
Survivors included: sons, Carl Howk and wife, Janice of Bryan, TX and David Howk of Sulphur Springs; daughters, Patsy Brown and husband, Ken, Mary Denny and husband, Ron and Teresa Pennington and husband, Frank all of Sulphur Springs; sister, Mary Wicker of West Memphis, AR; grandchildren, Kristi Nordin, Kelly Patterson, Karen Scott, Abbygale Vaughn, Lana Hall, Tammy Pickett, Rita Hearn, Ricky and Brian Wyly and Rebecca Howk and twenty great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents, three brothers, John Brown, Frank Brown and Gene Brown and one granddaughter, Nancy Howk.
