Funeral Services for Mike Kelty, age 50, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at First Baptist Church, at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 3, 2012, with Dr. David Hardage, Rev. Fred Lewis, Rev. Mark Bryant and Rev. C. J. Duffey officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with Steve Proctor, Tom Rost, Quinton Suttle, Butch Burney, Scott Burgin, Marlin Jones, Terry Moreland and Tony Cook serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale McMahan, Turk Morgan, Jeff Caldwell, Charlie Northcutt, David Watson, Grady Cashions, Jack Dickerson, Jeremy Weatherman and Rick Cowan. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, July 2, 2012 at First Baptist Church.
Mike Kelty passed away Saturday afternoon, June 30, 2012 at Rock Creek Health and Rehabilitation. He was born in Paris, Texas on December 22, 1961, the son of Timothy Maurice Kelty and Karen (Thurman) Kelty. He was a 1980 graduate of Sulphur Springs High School and he held a Bachelor of Science degree from Baylor University. He was a realtor, building contractor, retired teacher and owner of Mr. Fence. He coached flag football, boys' baseball and girls' softball. He also coached Destination Imagination and he was a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Survivors include: son, Zachary James Kelty and wife, Sam, of Brisbane, Australia; two daughters, Makenzie Lauren Kelty Glenn and husband, Jared, and Marissa Karrie Kelty, all of Sulphur Springs ; parents, Tim and Nita Kelty, of Sulphur Springs; Karen and Fred Partin of McKinney; sister, Karol Ann DeLong and husband, Chris, and their children, Chaney and Drew DeLong, all of Franklin, Tennessee; brother, Tommy Kelty and wife, Debbie, and their children Mariah, Makenna and Miley Kelty, all of McKinney; stepbrothers, Greg Martin and wife, Allison, and their children, Sloane, Spencer and Skyler, Brad Martin and wife, Kristen and their children, Emily, Mallory and Abbey; stepsisters, Leah Conner and husband, Dr. Tod Conner and their children, Sadie, Kelty, Lucy and Mac, all of Sulphur Springs and Michelle Partin and her daughter, Kaylee, of Irving. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Maurice and Odene Kelty, Zula Thurman Hopkins and T. L. Hopkins; grandson, Jace Glenn and aunt and uncle, Jon and Ann Moss. Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society and/or Hospice at Memorial.
