Graveside funeral services for Mervie Bell Bassham, 94, of Sulphur Bluff will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, in Sulphur Bluff Cemetery with Dr. Cecil McLeod
and the Rev. Charles Moore officiating.
There will be no formal visitation.
Mrs. Bassham died Friday morning, Dec. 26, at her residence.
Mervie Bell Bassham was born in Sulphur Bluff on Nov. 25, 1914, the daughter of Dee and Zera Hedrick Locke.
She married Jodie Bassham on Nov. 24, 1934, in Sulphur Bluff. He preceded her in death in 2005.
Mrs. Bassham retired as seamstress with H.D. Lee and Ike Clark Factory. She was a member of the Sulphur Bluff Methodist Church.
Survivors include one daughter-in-law, Maxine Bassham Dodd of Como.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Benny Dan Bassham and Michael Ray Bassham; two infant children; and two sisters, Lenna Mae Williams and Evelyn Stevenson.
Memorials may be made to Sulphur Bluff Methodist Church or Cypress Basin Hospice.
