Meleta Jordan

A graveside service for Meleta Jordan, age 81, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at Pontotac Cemetery in Pontotac, Oklahoma, at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, February 13, 2011, with Rev. James Diamond officiating. There will be no formal visitation.
Meleta Jordan passed away Friday morning, February 11, 2011 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Pontotac, Oklahoma, on November 16, 1929, the daughter of Watson Winton and Bessie (Casey) Winton. She married Joe Wayne Jordan in Fittstown, Oklahoma on March 21, 1948; he survives. Mrs. Jordan was a retired convenience store clerk and a member of Cedar Crest Christian Church.
Other survivors include: daughter, Jo Anne Steele and husband, Keith, of Sulphur Springs; son, Mike Jordan and wife, Gail, of Tomball; grandchildren, K. J. Steele, Casey Steele, Brett Watson Jordan and Tyler Reed Jordan; three brothers, Gib Winton of Pampa, Gerald Winton of Ada, Oklahoma and Billy Winton of Norman, Oklahoma and sister, Margie Berrie of Fittstown, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Tommy Winton, Duke Winton and Red Winton. Memorials may be made to Cedar Crest Christian Church, P.O. Box 1188, Sulphur Springs, Texas 75482.
