A funeral service for Melba Sue Stewart, age 80, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin Williams and Rev. Billy Sharber officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with nephews, Jason Sharber, Billy Sharber, Mike Wooten, Steve Wooten, John Williams, Tony Williams, Kevin Williams, Jeremy Sickles, Jared Brumley, Steve Schwartz, Robert James, Kelly Wiser and Kyle Peeks serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service (1:00 p.m.)
Melba Sue Stewart passed away Sunday morning, February 3, 2013, at Rock Creek Health and Rehabilitation. She was born in Mt. Vernon on September 21, 1932, the daughter of Hal Sharber and Susan Agnes (Perrin) Sharber. She was a retired A.M.P.I. bookkeeper and office manager and a member of First United Methodist Church. She was a member of D.A.R. and Professional Women's Association Secretary Club.
Survivors include: three sisters, Vera Wooten of Watauga, Linda Williams Neal and husband Tommy of Sulphur Springs and June Brumley and husband Junior of Pickton ; three brothers, Joe Hal Sharber and wife Mary of Mineola, Charles Wesley Sharber and wife Sherry of Sulphur Springs and Harold Lee Sharber and wife Rita of England and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Neal Sharber and Gene Paul Sharber. Memorials may be made to Legacy Hospice.
