Melba Starrett Vaughan

Funeral service for Melba Starrett Vaughan, age 83 of Sulphur Springs, TX will be held at 10:00A.M. on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with preacher Jerry Savage officiating. Interment will follow at Reilly Springs Cemetery with David Oberlender, Daniel Oberlender, Chris Scroggins, Dallas Clifton, Kenneth Starrett and Rebecca Oberlender serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Vaughan passed away on June 2, 2022 at Carriage House Manor.

Melba was born on April 26, 1939 in Reilly Springs, TX to Carl Starrett and Eula (Ponder) Starrett. She married Robert Vaughan on November 27, 1958 in Sulphur Springs, TX. Melba was a homemaker. She was a member of the League Street Church of Christ.

She is survived by her brother, Bennie Starrett; daughter, Debbie Oberlender and husband, David Oberlender; sons, David Vaughan and Timothy Vaughan; grandchildren, Daniel Oberlender, Rebecca Oberlender and Sarah Scroggins; great grandchild, Luna Clifton.

Melba was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; siblings, Carl Starrett Jr., Frank Starrett and Betty Story.
