Meddie Shaw, Sr.

Funeral services for Meddie Shaw, Sr., age 94, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at Cypress Baptist Center at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 9, 2012, with Elder Timothy Sharp officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, July 8, 2012 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Meddie Shaw, Sr. passed away Thursday morning, July 5, 2012 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Hopkins County on September 18, 1917, the son of Wesley Shaw and Polly (Williams) Shaw. He married Willie Mae Hawkins who preceded him in death in 2001. He was a retired dairyman and a member of Lord's Way Church of God in Christ.
Survivors include: two daughters, Doris McConnell of Kansas City, Missouri and Ella Givens of Sulphur Springs; six sons, Meddie Shaw, Jr. of Sulphur Springs; Elton L. Shaw of Tyler, Lonnie Shaw of Sulphur Springs, Larry Dale Shaw of Pickton, Milton Shaw of Sulphur Springs and Kenneth Shaw of Como; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son, Tony Shaw; five brothers; six sisters and grandson, Otis McConnell, Jr. Memorials may be made to the Lord's Way Church of God in Christ.
