Maxine Johnson

Funeral services for Maxine Johnson, age 92 of Dike will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Eric Godwin and Malcolm King officiating. Interment will follow at Nelta Cemetery with grandsons and great-grandsons serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer is Anita Clayton. Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.

Maxine passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Hopkins Place.

She was born on August 6, 1923, the daughter of Homer and Maxey (Capps) Potts in Limestone County. She married Ellery Johnson on December 2, 1950 in Dallas. He preceded her in death in 2007.
She was a homemaker, member of the Nelta Church of Christ and a member of the Eastern Star - Sulphur Bluff for over fifty years.
Survivors include her daughter, Jan Bartley and husband, Wade of Dike; grandchildren, Clay Bartley and wife, Ginger of Arbala, Brian Fairchild of Arbala, Micah Johnson and wife, Melissa of Nelta, Cara Duncan and husband, Jerry of Dike and Kim Vititow of Sulphur Springs; great-grandchildren, Quincie and McKenna Duncan, Mardi and Harrison Fite, Justin and Jarrett Bartley, Shane and Marshall Johnson, Tristan and Levi Fairchild, Jaden and Cohen Vititow and brother, Jim Potts and wife, Betty of San Antonio.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ellery and son, Max Johnson.
