Maurice Weir

Funeral services and Eastern Star Services for Maurice Weir, age 92, of Dallas, formerly of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, with Marvin Weir officiating. Interment will follow at North Hopkins Cemetery, with Carlton Michael Ederer, Jr., Mike Flippin, Larry Argenbright, Danny Argenbright, Tony Dehart and Ben Jennings serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service (10:00 a.m.)
Maurice Weir passed away Wednesday evening, November 28, 2012 at LifeCare Hospital of Dallas. She was born in the Nelta community on August 14, 1920, the daughter of Clarence Flippin and Fannie (Davidson) Flippin. She married William Hugh Weir, Jr. in Hugo on October 22, 1939. He preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and retired seamstress for H. D. Lee. She was a member of Church of Christ and Eastern Star.
Survivors include: daughter, Susan Ederer of Dallas; grandchildren, Michelle Ederer and Carlton Michael Ederer, Jr. and great-grandchild, Madeline Suzanne Ederer-Blalock. She was preceded in death by son, Robert Hugh Weir and brother, Garth Flippin.
