A funeral service for Mattie Lou Tucker, age 86, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. David Burns and Rocky Large officiating. Interment will follow at North Hopkins Cemetery, with Rocky Large, Rodney Tucker, Cory Ferrell, Jeremy Dixon, Michael Tucker, Jr., Kelly Faulks, Dylon Weatheread & Andrew Howell serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Mattie Lou Tucker passed away at Carriage House Manor Thursday morning, July 4, 2013. She was born in Tira on November 12, 1926, the daughter of William Frank Joslin and Bertha Lee (Massey) Joslin. She married Adrian "Buddy" Tucker in Commerce on June 30, 1945. He preceded her in death in 2003. She was a homemaker and a member of Peerless Baptist Church.
Survivors include: five daughters, Patsy Large and husband Dwight of Tucson, Arizona, Nancy Large and husband Danny of Mammoth, Arizona, Sherri Ferrell and husband Steve, Rita Martin and Carla Dixon and husband Darreyl, all of Sulphur Springs; three sons, James Tucker and wife Sandra of Lone Oak; Archie Tucker and wife Linda of Sulphur Springs and Michael Tucker of Okeene, Oklahoma; sister, Eva Nell McMahan; two brothers, Floyd Joslin and Johnny Joslin, all of Sulphur Springs; 23 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Lillian Coleman, Lena Massey and Murlene Petrea and six brothers, William Joslin, Robert Joslin, Gerald Joslin, Richard Joslin,and Frankie Lee Joslin. Memorials may be made to Legacy Hospice.
