Funeral services for Mattie Lee Hill, age 78, of Sulphur Springs will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Sterling Cemetery with Tony Farmer, Matt Caldwell, Eric Hill, Kenny Tolley, Cody McCauley and Larry Knotts serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Randall Farmer and Charlie Reeder. Visitation will be 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 07, 2010 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Mattie Lee Hill passed away Saturday, June 5, 2010 at her residence. She was born in Sulphur Springs on January 30, 1932, the daughter of Earl Author and Winnie Leota Dickey Hooten. She married H.P. Hill Jr. on April 27, 1950 in Sulphur Springs. He preceded her in death in 1993. She was a homemaker and member of the North Liberty Baptist Church.
Survivors include: three sons, Clifford Ray Hill of Sulphur Springs, Nolan Hill and wife Casey of Grand Prairie, and William Hill of Sulphur Springs; two daughters and son-in-laws, Sarah Alice & Randal Farmer of Sulphur Springs, Pam & Charlie Reeder of Edom, TX; brother, William Byrd Hooten,and Charlie Shropshire, both of Sulphur Springs; sister, Pauline Green of Winnsboro; grandchildren, Alice Caldwell, Tony Farmer, Teresa Farmer, Leslie Hill, Eric Hill, Shanon Smith, and Michael Stanton; great-grandchildren, Taylor & Clayton Caldwell, Kaithlyn & Benjamin Farmer, Timothy Farmer and Jessica Smith.
She was preceded in death by parents and brother, James Authur Hooten and sisters, Florence Hooten and Sarah Alice Hooten
