Graveside f uneral services for Mary Jo Wilhite, age 80, of Sulphur Springs, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 27, 2008, at Restlawn Memorial Park. Darrell Tubb will officiate.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 26, 2008, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wilhite passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2008, at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Jacksboro, Texas, on June 25, 1927, the daughter of Joe and Emma Lou Stewart Gordon. She married Claude A. Wilhite, on August 5, 1955, in Rockwall, Texas. He survives.
Mrs. Wilhite was retired from Southwestern Bell and a member of North Hopkins Church of Christ. She was also a member of CWA and the Telephone Pioneer Organization.
Survivors include: her husband, Claude Wilhite, of Sulphur Springs; one son, R.G. Wilhite of Alba; five daughters, Kathy Lewis of Justin, Barbara Kirby of Sulphur Springs, Linda Chandler of Austin, Sue Hitt of Alba, and Sandy Robinson of Rowlett; one sister, Doris Slatton of Amarillo; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; and one grandson, Derek Raney.
