Funeral services for Mary Morgan, age 82, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at First Baptist Church in Spence Chapel, at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 15, 2012, with Rev. Fred Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, with the Hopkins County Sheriff's Office Honor Guard serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Butch Adams, Henry Turner, Skipper Hurley Tony Hurley, Lewis Tatum, Jace Anglin and Charles Humphries. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2012.
Mary Morgan passed away Monday morning, March 12, 2012 at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. She was born in Sulphur Springs on August 24, 1929, the daughter of Alvis and Edith Wright. She married C. L. Morgan in Sulphur Springs. He preceded her in death in 1981. She was a retired clerk for Super Handy Convenience Stores and a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two sons, Rickey Morgan and wife Tiffany of Dike and Rex Morgan and wife, Linda, of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Misti Morgan Dillon and husband, Robert, Blake Morgan, Hayley Lawson, Dustin Lawson, Ryan Morgan and Alicia Morgan and great-grandchildren, Cortney Dillon, Brooklyn Moon, Shelby Dillon, Cole Dillon, Erin Morgan, Hannah Ogles, Brennan and Bryce Hurst. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
