Funeral Service for Marvin Duval, age 90, of Sulphur Springs will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel with Tommy Hall officiating and Sam Tatum, Lewis Tatum, Roger Maynard, Earl Martin, Billy Ore and Paul Horton serving as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jones Roberts, Butch Adams, Cletus Millsap, J.G. Williams, and Robert Newsom. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Mr. Duval passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Carriage House Manor, Sulphur Springs.
Marvin was born on September 17, 1928 in Webb, TX to Truett and Josie Duval. He married Carolyn Heath on August 6, 1955 in Waco, TX. He served in the U.S. Army and served for the DPS for 35 years and retired in 1986 He also worked as a constable and bailiff in Hopkins County. He was an original member of the Hopkins County sheriff posse and a Mason for over 60 years. Marvin was a member of Davis St. Baptist Church.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Carolyn; daughter, Dawn Eppars and husband Felton; grandchildren: Khrista Brown and Brent Tanton; 5 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild and sister, Joyce Barton.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, J.C. Duval and sister, Lonita Rhine.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Davis St. Baptist Church 427 Gilmer st Sulphur Springs, TX 75482.
