Mark Rorie

Funeral services for Mark H. Rorie, age 65 of Sulphur Springs will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Jeff Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.

Mr. Rorie passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 in Plano. He was born in Paris on September 4, 1949 the son of Joel David and Mary Louise (Garmon) Rorie. He married Paula Bicknell.

He was a member of the Texas Association of Sports Officials (TASO) for thirty-four years during that time, he refereed the Texas High School All-Star game. He also sat on the Board of Directors for Amoco Federal Credit Union as the President.

Survivors include wife, Paula Rorie; son, Chris Rorie of Sulphur Springs; daughter, J.J. Rorie of Chicago, IL; brother, Joe Rorie and wife, Sheila of Sulphur Springs; sister, Janette Watson and husband, Gene of Sulphur Springs; mother-in-law, Carrie Ransom; two brother-in-laws, Tom Ransom and Jim Bicknell; two nephews, David Watson and wife, Myra and Jeff Rorie; three nieces, Gena Prickette and husband, John, Courtney McNeal and husband, Seth and Brittney Spruiell and husband, Ashby and one aunt, Frances Hopkins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and Allie Rorie (grand-dog and special friend).
