Funeral services for Marceline Day Lawlis, age 86, of Springtown, Texas will be 11:00am on Monday, December 18, 2017, at Biggers Funeral Home in Lake Worth. Interment will be 4:00 P.M. in Electra Memorial Park in Electra, Texas with Nathan Lawlis, Matthew Bush, Shane Moore, Chase Moore, Brian Day and Brandon Day serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
Marceline was born in Lamesa, Texas on August 26, 1931 the daughter of Claude and Vivian Maines Day. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, Texas and was a retired Registered Nurse. Marceline received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas in Arlington and received her Registered Nursing degree from John Peter Smith School of Nursing in Ft. Worth. She was active in the Order of Eastern Star and was a Past Worthy Matron of Grand Prairie Chapter #219 and Springtown Chapter #498. She had also been a member of Weatherford Chapter #21 and Wichita Falls Faith Chapter #713. Mrs. Lawlis passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Woodridge Health and Rehab in Grapevine.
Survivors include, sons, Ricky Lawlis and wife, Jane, of Justin, TX., Joe Lawlis and wife, Dana, of Arlington, TX., and David Lawlis of Ft. Worth, TX.; daughters, Denise Moore and husband, Dow of Midland, TX., and Michelle Bush and husband, Marty, of Boyd, TX.; brother, Ronnie Day and wife, Mary, of Sulphur Springs, TX.; 10 grandchildren, Nathan Lawlis & wife Devin, Justin Brown & wife, Brandy, Jessica Aaron & husband, Kevin, Meagan Lawlis, Shane Moore, Chase Moore, Rita Sullivan & husband Michael, Joseph Bush, Matthew Bush & wife, Ashley, and Lauren McAuley; 11 Great-grandchildren, Ethan & Landon Lawlis, Brayden & Bayleigh Brown, Ryleigh & Gaige Aaron, Abigail & Gavin Sullivan, and Taylor & Zeke Bush, and Baby Boy Sullivan on the way; nephews, Brian Day & wife Amy, and Brandon Day & wife, Tara; and niece, Lucenda Day; 1 great niece, Kylie Day; and 3 great-nephews, Jake, Cannon, and Wade Day.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Ray Pendleton and David Lawlis; grandson, Brent Lawlis; and sister, Sandy Harrison.
