Louise Fox

A graveside service will be held for Louise Watson Fox at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Restlawn Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Pete Adrian officiating. Mrs. Fox passed away Sunday, September 14 in Mesquite, Texas. Mrs. Fox was born in Tira, Tx January 20, 1931 to Ernest and Myrza Watson. She married Clovis Fox on June 18, 1949. He preceded her in death.
Education was Mrs. Fox's passion. She graduated from Sulphur Springs High School in 1949. While working and raising her family, she continued her education at East Texas State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in 1973 and a Masters in Library and Information Systems in 1986. She received her Doctor of Education in 1993.
Mrs. Fox developed her interest in the legal profession while working for the law firm of Sellers & Fanning. Her legal knowledge and skills in research led her to successful careers as the manager of Morris Abstract & Title Company and as a petroleum landman and partner in L. Fox - J. Watson.
While working on her degrees, Mrs. Fox served as an instructor at East Texas State University. She was also a published author and an avid genealogical researcher. She enjoyed live theater performances and bicycling trips throughout the area.
Mrs. Fox was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Messengers Sunday School class and United Methodist Women, where she taught classes and served in many leadership roles.
She is survived by her children, Mike Fox & Lorna Reutner of Austin, Lonnie Fox and wife Tracey and Maleta Reynolds and husband Ricky all of Sulphur Springs and grandchildren Dru Fox of San Antonio, John Michael Fox of Marshall, Sarah Fox of Denton, Haley Stanford and husband Jordan of Waxahachie, and Emily Reynolds of Waco. She is also survived by her brother Gene Watson and wife Janette of Sulphur Springs and sister Mary Jo Thompson and husband Garry of San Antonio and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, Terrific Tuesdays program at First United Methodist Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
