Lloyd Bland

A military graveside service for Lloyd "Cotton" Bland, age 85, of Ely, Nevada, formerly of Sulphur Springs, will be held, under the direction of the Hopkins County Military Coalition, at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 23, 2008, at Cumby Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 22, 2008, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.

Lloyd "Cotton" Bland passed away, Friday, May 16, 2008, at White Pine Care Center in Ely , Nevada . He was born in Sulphur Springs, on June 27, 1922, the son of J. B. and Kate Abercrumbie Bland. He married Willie Stoor. She preceded him in death. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Bland was retired, having worked in mine fields and oil fields. He was a member of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant son, two brothers and two sisters.
